Fishing & Crabbing

Tall Pines Harbor is located on the Pocomoke Sound where the mouth of the Pocomoke River and the Chesapeake Bay come together. The water is brackish allowing for the sport of catching both salt water and fresh water fish. People age sixteen years of age and older are required to have either a VA or MD fishing license. No license is required for recreational crabbing.

The 226 foot fishing pier is a great place to cast your rods or throw over your string and chicken necks to catch some of those famous Chesapeake Bay Blue Crabs. Our campstore carries bait such as night crawlers, blood worms, squid, shrimp and chicken. We also stock a variety of tackle and crabbing supplies. Most commonly caught fish are croaker (also known as hard heads), flounder in the early spring, rock fish, trout and catfish.
